and this is why...

i LOVE what i do. i can't say it enough, kids just make my world go round. i enjoy every stage. but even more so, i enjoy being able to capture their growth and watch their personalities shine through the stages. this mom has made sure that every milestone month is captured. so a round of applause, because i'm not sure i could juggle two kiddos, a hubby, furbaby, job, life AND make sure each milestone is captured. oh, and hunter is kiddo number two. the exact same was documented for big sis lily...remarkable!
hunter is 18 months old, and ALL BOY.  he is a rough & tumble tike and is pretty fearless. he loves to climb and pick stuff up that weighs more than himself. we had fun in the studio. mom brought along some of his favorite things. and he found a chair that he could climb, he was set. i was
super happy that mom & big sis joined in on the fun as well. thanks again for the laughs and memories! oxxo

be still my heart...

babies are incredible, so imagine my heart when i heard there were two babies.... oh. my. heavens. TWINS! i was super excited to work with these handsome lil guys. colton & hunter were so good for their first session. i was actually surprised at how quickly it went. and when both babies started fussing, dad said we were done. they were such champs!
their mom and i went to school together and it was great to reconnect. she is totally rockin' the whole mother hood thing. and to watch dad interact with his babies is just incredible. i look forward to another session with this adorable family. thanks for letting me capture your lil' miracles. they are just perfect.
(((and p.s. i had a hard time telling these guys apart, however hunter has a cowlick, which is the only difference i could spot.))))

ladies & gentleman...

introducing the 6 month old baby genius; aka brooks. i was THRILLED when morgan contacted me and scheduled a session. she sent me ideas that she wanted to try & suggested the perfect location. we met in fredericksburg at a converted club house which just so happened to be an old train station.  the spot was breathtaking with rustic elements and natural lighting were great.
so what more could a photographer ask for? well, two amazingly photogenic parents and a baby that is just spilling cuteness. my wish was granted. mom & dad were never without a smile on their face. they are clearly naturals; and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. even the fashion for this lil' kiddo is out of this world!
brooks is quite simply the light of their world. to watch dad get on the floor and play with brooks just melted my heart. this little family is nothing short of awesome. i am thrilled i was able to capture it.

L is for...

lily & love. clearly these go hand in hand. it was love at first sight for me and this amazing little miss lily. i was thrilled when her mom contacted me to schedule a session. she showed her big gummy smiles from the minute i started talking to her. mom & dad clearly had a system down that works for them. through clothes & diaper changes, these two worked in unison never missed a beat. they make it look so easy! haha
to watch dad interact with his baby girl just melted my heart. the bond that these two share is incredible. to say that she is a "daddy's girl" is an understatement. she is daddy's WHOLE world. thanks again williams family! you guys are pretty special. oxo

it's MY party...

and i can cry if i want to! happy 1st birthday to an incredibly smart, sweet & sassy gal. thank goodness that norah's family is super patient. it took a while for norah to warm up to me. and if it wasn't for dad nearly standing on his head, mom hiding out in another room, and the mickey mouse club house song playing on the phone, oh and CAKE (((that mom made)))...i'm not sure we would have had smiles from this sweetheart. this session was clearly a group effort, and i'm thrilled to capture it. tears, cake, soulful brown eyes and all.
i'm loving the coordination on mom's part. gold leggings and a hot pink tutu?! seriously! and coordinating ONE letters that dad painted for his daughter's big day. watching this family grow is nothing short of amazing. i am beyond blessed to capture these moments! oxo

sometimes...

i still cannot believe that my little brother is almost 20. he will ALWAYS be my sunshine. he is the lil' guy whose smile would just light up when i pulled him along on wagon rides or built tents in the living room. he had the sweetest laugh, and we would laugh together until our bellies hurt. this kid always has been right hand man. when he was little, he was a RIOT but he had this simple charm that would just make you weak at your knees. the bond that i share with this kiddo is irreplaceable.
so fast forward to now. andrew has found an awesome gal who treats him like gold. and together they share an incredible home on the water. i was super excited to finally check it out. they have a little piece of paradise right in their hands. so here's to swinging in the hammock and watching sunrises from your pier. i am so proud of you! oxxo

catching up...

on christmas. so sometimes the hardest part of my job is when the portraits are a gift and parents request that i wait until after a certain date to post. maybe its not that hard, but sometimes the anticipation kills me.
since christmas has passed- better late than never, here is a cheerful christmas session that included two of my favorite little people. devin always makes me smile. this kid is wise beyond his years and can carry a conversation with you on just about anything. sweet lil' miss peyton surely kept her tradition alive of smiling, all sorts of big gummy smiles after hearing she was beautiful & gorgeous. i love these kiddos!
