blessed is an understatement...

i first met bri at the gym. she has an infectious laugh and the most bubbly personality. fast forward a year or so and now this gem has become a momma to handsome baby. bri & matty welcomed baby brody into this world. i was ecstatic when she asked to schedule a session; it has been a while since i have been able to snuggle an itty bitty. brody was an absolute doll. he is the most expressive baby i have ever met. it took all i had to hand him back over to mom and dad when his session was over. i could snuggle him all.day.long.
and this is why babies and photography are blessings to me. i am given the chance to watch your story unfold and capture the very moments you will look back on. i'm as much in love with brody as i am in love with these memories. oxxo

((sometimes if i'm lucky enough i can capture a candid like this, and sometimes there are no words))

the sound of peyton laughing...

is music to my ears big brother devin shouted. and then it hit me; i had totally forgotten just how incredibly close these two siblings are. it's been two years since he was promoted to the position of big brother and yet their bond is just as strong as ever. once again i am reminded just how incredible these little people are. devin is an old wise man trapped in a kids body; i swear. our conversations included his summer plans along with the very informative discussion on some of the deadliest snakes in the world. we celebrated peytons 2nd birthday at greenwell state park. peyton is a little firecracker that has big brother ((and maybe dad too)) wrapped around her little fingers. the weather was windy and brisk but this family just made my heart warm. these kiddos are something else. oxxo

remember when it rained...

and rained, and rained? i do! it was around the time that we had scheduled FOUR year old birthday pictures for miss lilly. i asked mom if she wanted to reschedule  and she said well, she has an umbrella and rain boots that she really likes, lets go for it!  ummmm, YES!
i really love my sessions because it's my way of catching up on life with the kiddos and mom & dad too. i asked lilly how she was and without missing a beat, she said, "I am four." Oh lilly, i still cannot wrap my head around just how fast you have grown. she has always been wise beyond her years and such a delight to be around. little brother hunter came along too. last time i saw him he didn't have much to say. this time he was very eager to point out the "orange bouy out there in the water." (which honestly i almost had to squint to see) we hung out down by the leonardtown wharf, splashed in puddles and made the most of the rain. i think the day was excellent reminder to embrace where you are, i think the pictures are proof. oxxo

time & good friends...

become more valuable the older you get. these words ring so true to me. i met mary at work and it was almost like one of those, "where have you been all my life" moments. i think it's funny how you cross paths with people at just the right time.  her sweet and sassy side just brightens my day. i feel so lucky to have her and her family in my world.
emma is the spitting image of her momma. she is a plate of sweet with a side of sass. the way her nose crinkles when she smiles just makes me cheese like a fool. jeremy is the more serious, let's do business kind of guy. he didn't really find humor in my "stinky feet" slogan but managed to crack a smile or two. watching jeremy with emma together shows me everything an older brother should be. it's obvious, he loves that little girl. let's not forget hubs, who treats mary like the gem she is while still having the "lets keep it real attitude". these two have the relationship that makes me laugh at their jokes and owww and awwww over their adorable shenanigans. what could be better?!?
this was just one of those sessions that just warms my heart. on cold dreary days like today, i think back to the laughs and memories and it's like instant soul food. this is the good stuff. oxxo

'tis the season...

for laughs, cheer and good company. this year has been a true reflection of just that. this family kicked off the holiday season with a bang! i dusted off some of my christmas swag and headed out to sotterley. i think they were having just as much fun as me because they never really stopped smiling. i was thrilled! dad kept the jokes coming and the time just flew by. despite the crazy wind and chill that winter brought, these guys were troopers. when you nail a few poses that mom really wanted; SCORE! thanks for the laughs and good times. you guys are awesome! oxo

this little family....

reminded me the apple does not fall far from the tree. i went to school with caden's dad and will always remember him as the jokester of the class. he never failed to make us laugh with his crazy off the wall humor. i remember when he proudly burped the entire alphabet, not.even.kidding. while caden is a bit more reserved than his dad, it's clear he still got his dad's sense of humor. this lil' guy had me laughing so much by the end of the session my cheeks hurt. kari is hands down, the sweetest gal. she has the patience of a saint and an incredible sense of humor; which i think is pretty much mandatory with these two fellas. the three of these people together make a pretty stinkin' cute little family. thanks again guys for a great time! oxo
