often times i sit back and realize...

just how blessed i am and what an incredible journey this whole photography "gig" has taken me on.  i have met some of the most incredible families and the washington family is no exception. i first met kingston when he was an itty bitty, smooshy, snuggly, sweetest smelling babe. it was pretty much love at first sight with this family. they invited me into their home, and aside from a brand new baby, they have TWO boxers. ohhhh, you know, that's pretty much all it took. i was smitten. i admired the fact at how mom and dad just without missing a beat cared for this brand new babe as if he was their 3rd or 4th child. they made it look so easy. when kingston would fuss, dad would pick him up and sing to him with this soulful voice and kingston just loved it. it's interesting to watch dynamics change once a baby comes along. with these two, it was like they were born for this. they are so in tune with this little guy.
let's fast forward about eleven months and we have a handsome tot who is celebrating his first birthday. mom had balloons, custom shirts (diy mind you, yeah she's crafty too) and some pretty neat ideas to celebrate the first 365 days of their life together. i met up with them at their house again and i was amazed that kingston still has his sweet little baby face that i remembered. in addition to those chubby cheeks and soulful brown eyes, this kid has eyebrow control like i have NEVER seen. (not kidding, scroll down. the proof is there)
to say thanks for allowing me to capture these moments doesn't seem like much. so here i am a few months after this session and i'm grinning so big as i go through these images again. when i delivered the proofs mom had the sweetest message for me. she said thanks for sharing your talent with us. i am just beyond grateful to have been given the opportunity. oxxo
